Sam Lena Library offers a variety of classes for adults and kids.
Laptops are available for filling out job applications Mondays through Fridays, 12 to 5 p.m.
GED preparation and tutoring are offered every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. All classes are taught in English by Pima County Public Library tutors with Adult Education Certification. Open to ages 16 and older.
Advanced English Language Conversation classes are available Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The spring session runs from March 7 to May 13, but late registration is allowed.
Sunday
Homework Help, 1 to 4 p.m. Tutors available for all ages, from elementary to college students.
Monday
Job Help, 2 to 4 p.m. An instructor is available to answer questions on a variety of computer topics.
Advanced English Language Conversation, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Practice English conversation skills with trained tutors from Literacy Volunteers of Tucson.
Computer Classes offered in Spanish, 4 to 6 p.m.
Citizenship Class, 5:30 to 7 p.m. This class provides opportunities to learn about U.S. government and U.S. history and to improve your English language skills, while preparing for the citizenship exam.
Tuesday
Family Bilingual Story Time, 11 to 11:45 a.m.
Laptops for Kids and Teens, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Play social games, check email, do homework, watch videos, listen to music and hang out with your friends in a less-quiet space, with no time limit!
Wednesday
Homework Help, 2 to 6 p.m. Tutors available on–site for all ages. Help available in Spanish, subject to availability.
Chess Club, 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Teen Time, 3 to 5 p.m. Stop by for a fun program every week, and get an extra computer session!
Thursday
Advanced English Language Conversation, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Practice English conversation skills with trained volunteer
tutors from Literacy Volunteers
of Tucson.
Friday
Yoga, 9 to 10 a.m. Wear loose clothes and bring a yoga mat. This class meets before the building opens, so knock to be let in.
Saturday
One-on-One Computer Training, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Computer classes offered in English and Spanish by the University of Arizona Honors Civic Engagement Team.
IT Nation, 1 to 3 p.m., from March 19 to April 16. Each week learn a fun multimedia skill.
